ALL VALLEY FEVER VACCINE SUPPORTERS

Welcome to www.valleyfever.com.  The focus of the Valley Fever Americas Foundation and the Valley Fever Vaccine Project of the Americas (A Rotary District 5240 project) is funding the development of a vaccine to prevent coccidioidomycosis, also known as “cocci” or Valley Fever. You can use the links at left to move about the website.

At this website you will find information about the disease which has been reviewed by physicians considered expert in the field. Don’t miss the “Valley Fever Primer” written by Drs Hans Einstein and Richard Deaner (see link at left) which is available in English and Spanish.  You will also find materials to download that you are welcome to distribute to others to help increase awareness and understanding of the disease.  Our one page flyer and the bookmarks listing common symptoms are available in English, Spanish, Tagalog and Punjabi.

Please send us your comments and questions regarding what we are doing and how you can help.  Inquiries of a medical nature will be forwarded to a physician who has volunteered to assist the project.

Current projects that you can help with include:

URGENT -- Contact your member of congress.  Urge support for vaccine research funding in the appropriation process. This is especially important if you live outside an endemic area.  NOTE:  The following congressmen signed a 2008 Federal  appropriation request letter:  Kevin McCarthy, Devin Nunes, Ken Calvert, Jim Costa, George Radanovich, Darrell Issa, Rick Renzi, Raul Grijalva, Stevan Pearce, Jon C. Porter.  If you are a constituent, tell them thank you!!!

URGENT -- Contact Congressman Nussle, Director of the Office of Management and Budget and urge his support for vaccine research funding in the President’s Budget for 2009. If you see this note after February 1, 2008, make that in the President’s Budget for 2010!
